Pedro Afonso Martinez is a Counsel in the Commercial and Corporate, Mergers and Acquisitions and Private Equity practices. He has experience in mergers and acquisitions, shareholders’ agreements and corporate reorganisations, acting for both sellers and buyers on domestic and cross-border transactions. He has also advised several asset management companies on various aspects of their activity, such as structuring and setting up private equity funds and other investment funds, investments and divestments by the funds managed, governance of funds and management companies, interaction with investors and the regulator, sales of units in funds and changes in fund management. He further advises social economy entities, namely associations and foundations, on their incorporation and structuring, on governance matters and on the day-to-day conduct of their activity. He is also involved in litigation and arbitration, mainly in corporate and commercial disputes.
He was a Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon, between 2019 and 2024, and is currently preparing his PhD at the University of Coimbra.
